Police in Dundee did not find any disqualified drivers in an operation to catch motorists still behind the wheel despite being banned by the courts.
They did, however, find two drivers with no insurance, one without a driving licence and two without MoTs in the crackdown over two days last week.
Two other drivers were caught using their mobile phone and two drivers were guilty of not wearing a seatbelt.
Police said some people wrongly assume that these offences have little impact on road safety, but a lack of documentation can indicate a vehicle that is poorly maintained and in poor condition.
It can also betray a general attitude of a driver who has little regard for the rules of the road.
Inspector Grant Edward, of Tayside Divisional Roads Policing Unit, said: “Disqualified drivers have been deemed by a court of law not to be on our roads. Anyone who gets behind the wheel of a car when they are banned and not legally entitled to do so represents a real danger to every other road user.
“Such actions will not be tolerated by the police and we would urge the public to share that view.
“Indeed, we are very appreciative of the support and assistance we receive from the public.
“If you know someone who is driving while disqualified, tell us before they ruin lives.”
