Relief for Dundee family after pyjama boy found safe and well

An eight-year-old boy was found safe and well last night after going missing from his Dundee home wearing only his pyjamas.

A major police operation had been about to get under way after his disappearance was reported.

The youngster had left his house in the Barnes Avenue area in his nightwear and carrying a school bag.

Tayside Police quickly put out an appeal for information. Concerns for his safety were heightened by the fact that it was a cold evening and the boy was without warm clothing.

However, there was relief for the youngster’s worried family a short time later when he was found at a friend’s house and the search was called off as he was returned home safe.
