A Dundee paedophile has been jailed for 20 months for abusing two youngsters in the 1990s.
David Knight, 53, of Wellgrove Street, had been found guilty by a jury of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards a girl aged under ten at addresses in Dundee between 1996 and 1999, and the same charge towards another girl in Dundee between 1996 and 1998.
David Duncan, defending, said: “All I can really do is ask that if custody is necessary that it is kept as low as possible.”
Sheriff Alistair Carmichael jailed Knight for 20 months, with an additional 10-month supervised release order on his release from prison.
He also placed him on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
Sheriff Carmichael said: “The jury found you guilty of two serious offences.
“I recall that the evidence supported the charges that you behaved in this manner on various occasions.
“There’s evidence that it happened a few times a week to one girl and up to ten times in relation to the second.
“This was not one-off conduct. This was consistent conduct towards two children.
“A custodial sentence is the only appropriate sentence.”
