Police are attempting to ban a Dundee football hooligan from every stadium in the country.
Jamie Gilchrist, 21, of Forth Crescent, has previously been found guilty of fighting Hamilton Academical fans and running on to the pitch at Dundee FC’s Dens Park.
A proof hearing into the case was due to call at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday but it has been pushed back as Gilchrist is applying for legal aid.
If the police are eventually successful, Gilchrist will be banned from attending “regulated football matches”.
In 2013, he escaped jail and a Football Banning Order (FBO) despite being part of a gang which had a mass brawl with Hamilton fans at a retail park next to the Accies’ New Douglas Park on December 3 2011.
The two gangs of up to 30 casuals fought each other and even spat at disgusted onlookers.
Despite being found guilty of fighting and causing fear and alarm, Sheriff Ray Small spared them jail and instead ordered each of them to perform 250 hours of unpaid work.
The sheriff who presided over the case described the fight as “very unpleasant”.
In May last year, Gilchrist again dodged a Football Banning Order despite invading the pitch at Dens Park to celebrate a goal with Dundee players.
