A man has gone on trial accused of sexually assaulting and illegally tattooing a series of teenage girls.
Paul McLellan, 46, pleaded not guilty yesterday to a total of 21 charges in which he allegedly broke the law between November 2012 and February 2013.
He appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The jurors heard the contents of a legal document which detail the allegations facing Mr McLellan, a prisoner at Perth.
The Crown claims he broke the law with a total of 11 girls. The teenagers were aged between 15 and 18 at the time of the alleged offences.
Prosecutors claim that on two occasions between November 10 2012 and January 28 2013, at various locations in Dundee, McLellan sexually assaulted a girl aged 18.
He is also alleged to have sexually assaulted and illegally tattooed a 17-year-old girl at various addresses in the city between December 27 2012 and February 10 2013.
McLellan is also alleged to have sent a “sexual written communication” to a 15-year-old girl in the Dundee area.
The Crown claims the communication was “sent for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification or for humiliating, distressing and alarming” the teenager.
