83-year-old man attacked in Dundee Tesco Express store

An 83-year-old man has suffered facial injuries in an attack in a Dundee supermarket.
Eye-witnesses told The Courier that the man was attacked by another customer in Tesco Express in Strathmartine Road..
They said the attacker hit the pensioner in the face with a shopping basket before fleeing the store.
The victim needed medical attention but is not thought to have been seriously hurt.
Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman said: “The incident is believed to have happened at around 3:05pm on Friday at the Tesco Express store.
“An 83-year-old man was assaulted by another man, resulting in a minor injury. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated by ambulance at the scene.
“Officers are looking for anyone who was in the store and may have seen the incident take place to come forward.”
It was the second serious incident at supermarkets in the city on Friday. Earlier in the day, a road was closed outside Morrisons in Forfar Road after a man was found with head injuries.
