A Dundee couple have been jailed for engaging in a sexual romp on a Lochee bus.
Garry McNair “revelled in it” as Alexis Watson carried out a sex act on him on the number 28 service between the Seagate and Lochee High Street in Dundee.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard the pair carried on the three and a half minute romp despite other passengers asking them to stop.
The court heard other passengers on the bus tried to ignore what was going on behind them as the incident took place in the back row of the bus.
A sheriff told the pair the act was “blatant” and said: “McNair’s bravura was very, very apparent.”
The couple were also placed on the sex offenders register for the “crazy” romp.
Depute fiscal Trina Sinclair told Dundee Sheriff Court that Watson was spotted carrying out oral sex on McNair on the bus at 2.35pm on September 9 last year.
She said: “There were a couple of people in their twenties who asked them to stop what they were doing.
“They simply ignored that and carried on.
“Police inquiries were undertaken and CCTV was looked at.
“CCTV recorded the act taking place.”
McNair, 38, of Invercraig Place, and Watson, 32, of Yarrow Terrace, both Dundee, pleaded guilty on summary complaint to a charge of public indecency committed on September 9 last year.
Both were on bail at the time of the offence.
David Duncan, defending McNair, said: “He’s not someone who has shown prevalence to this sort of behaviour before.
“But he understands it needs to be marked.”
Mike Short, for Watson, said she had “acted in a crazy manner”.
Sheriff George Way jailed the pair for five months each, and placed them both on the sex offenders register.
He said: “The public expects that when they travel on a bus they will not be subjected to such behaviour which is not acceptable anywhere.
“There were people there, young people included.Whatever your intentions it was something that happened over a prolonged period of time.
“As far as I’m concerned I can’t accept that there was not a public element to it.
“It began in the middle of the bus and was over a prolonged period.”
The sheriff earlier said: “Mr McNair was revelling in the whole thing. He was looking to the rest of the bus during it.
“His bravura is very, very apparent,” the sheriff added.
