Dobbies want to build three new stores at Ethiebeaton

Dobbies are planning a £1.2 million expansion of their Ethiebeaton site.
They want to create three shops totalling almost 700 square metre floorspace in the gap between their main premises and the neighbouring House of Angus retail unit near Monifieth.
The units would be made available to businesses associated with gardening and leisure pastimes.
In an application their agents GVA said: “Dobbies are keen to introduce this new concept to their existing store at Monifieth to further boost both the offer from the garden centre but more importantly, the vitality and attractiveness of the House of Angus development.
“It is envisaged that this substantial level of new investment will lead to significant economic benefits for the local area and the revitalisation of the House of Angus to genuinely improve its credentials as an important visitor attraction within the local area.”
GVA continued: “The proposals will create a number of new job opportunities with staff positions created within the new retail units, but also the potential for spin-off benefits for the existing occupiers at the House of Angus by drawing more tourist custom to the area.”
