As the European Space Agency’s first British Astronaut prepares to blast off to spend six months on board the International Space Station, a massive science adventure will touch down in Dundee this weekend.
To celebrate Tim Peake’s December mission, the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres is coordinating a season of astronauts and adventure for families and schools at 20 science centres across the UK.
The programme, which includes Dundee Science Centre, is backed by the UK Space Agency.
Launching on Saturday to coincide with the final day of World Space Week, the Destination Space show will allow visitors to explore what life is like for the entire space crew.
With amazing demonstrations and supersonic science experiments, including building and launching astronauts and learning about life on the ISS, the show will be held every day, starting on Saturday.
Rebecca Erskine, exhibition and community engagement manager at Dundee Science Centre, said: “We are really excited to be part of this UK-wide project and to give our visitors the chance to take part in events and activities that harness the inspirational power of European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake’s space mission.”
Dundee Science Centre is open daily from 10am-5pm.
