Johnson Matthey have confirmed they are moving their battery systems division from Dundee to the English Midlands. The speciality chemicals company said there will be 11 redundancies from its 60-strong Dundee workforce. They are to leave as a result of the first stage of the company’s consultation process. A spokeswoman for Johnson Matthey said consultation continues and she could not comment on the situation of the remainder of the workforce. News of the closure was revealed by The Courier last month.
