Derek Gall plied a 13-year-old girl with alcohol before raping her during an eight-year campaign of abuse on children at several addresses in Tayside. The 36-year-old faced more than 20 charges relating to the abuse of young children at his trial. A jury found him guilty of seven charges by majority verdict earlier this month. The offences were carried out between 2006 and 2014 at properties in Dundee, Forfar and Arbroath. Gall, of Brougham Gardens, Dundee, carried out two rapes, two attempted rapes and two sexual assaults on his first victim between 2006 and 2014. His second victim was attacked between 2011 and 2013. During one incident, Gall was said to have restrained and struggled with the child. The judge ordered that he be kept under supervision for a further period of five years and placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
