Dundee drummer John Lunan has died at the age of 66.
Mr Lunan spent more than four decades drumming for a variety of bands in the city as well as further afield after buying his first kit out of Watt’s in the old Wellgate.
His musical career began in the mid-1960s, with a gig at the Station Hotel, Carnoustie.
Throughout that decade, and the 1970s, he played with a selection of local acts, including The Jacques, Third Edition, Hunters Key and Kookie & Co.
Outside Dundee, Mr Lunan played with a band led by Robin Mathers for two years on a cruise around the Mediterranean.
He also worked alongside a raft of famous performers and artists, including Billy Connolly, Lonnie Donegan and The Troggs.
Latterly, he performed with Ringer at the Beatles convention in Liverpool.
Veteran fellow Dundee drummer Donny Coutts paid tribute, saying Mr Lunan was a “really generous and loyal guy”.
