A lock-in at a popular Dundee pub could see the bar lose its licence.
Staff initially refused to allow police in after officers spotted them drinking at 4am in Ferrari’s.
The bar manager of the Ogilvie Street hostelry appeared in court over the matter and its operators must now appear before the city licensing authorities amid fears recent precedent could count against them.
The Four Js and the Victoria Bar both had their licences suspended for allowing football fans to drink alcohol before opening time ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final in April.
In a report to Thursday’s licensing committee, Chief Inspector Caroline Scobbie said: “There is little doubt in my mind that alcohol had been consumed on the premises after hours, although this had all been cleared up, and no evidence was found to confirm this.
“But what is absolutely clear is that there were people in the bar after closing time, these people were fully aware that police were outside and refused to allow them entry.”
Bar manager Jennifer Robins, 35, of Provost Road, was fined £235 after admitting she and four others had been drinking in Ferrari’s in the early hours of September 1.
Depute fiscal Charmaine Gilmartin said: “Police officers knocked and banged on the door repeatedly and shouted that they were police but the people inside refused to open the door.”
Robins admitted intentionally obstructing police officers.
