A celebrated photograph of a pregnant pony is one of 20 images on display in Dundee as part of an exhibition focusing on scientific photography.
The Pregnant Pony Uterus by Michael Frank, which won the Wellcome Image Award last week, is one of the images now on display at the Dundee Science Centre.
The other images on display range from a scanning electron micrograph of a greenfly’s eye, a clinical photograph of an elderly woman’s curved spine and an illustration of pollen grains.
Dundee is one of 11 cities across the UK hosting the 2015 winning images, as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Koch Institute), USA.
Dundee Science Centre will show the images until August 30.
The awards were established in 1997 to reward contributors to the collection for their work.
Linda Leuchars, acting chief executive officer of Dundee Science Centre, said: “We are absolutely delighted and privileged to have been selected to exhibit these incredible images, which bring to life an amazing array of innovative imaging techniques.”
