Former Dundee police sergeant to face indecent child images trial

A former police sergeant is to stand trial accused of having a cache of indencent child and beastiality photos.
Hamish Tocher – who was a sergeant with Tayside Police until 2002 – appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court, where he faced three charges alleged to have been committed between December 25 2011 and March 20 2012.
It is alleged that he had in his possession indecent photographs or psuedo photographs of children. He faces a further charge of taking or making indecent photographs or psuedo photographs of children.
Tocher also faces a charge of possessing extreme pornographic images depicting “in an explicit and realistic way beastiality”.
Both charges are said to have been committed at his home address.
Tocher, 56, of Kinnettles Terrace, Dundee, pleaded not guilty on indictment to the charges.
Sheriff George Way set a trial date in September.
