A team of animation students from Duncan of Jordanstone needed just 48 hours to bring about the end of the world.
The 10 MSC animation and visualisation students entered the AniJam competition in Glasgow, which asks teams to create an animation from scratch in just 48 hours.
The Dundee students were given the theme “The Trip” and came up with an 85-second cartoon called Clyde the Exterminator about an alien on a mission to destroy the Earth.
Twelve teams entered the competition and the winning film will be announced on March 23.
Course director of the MSc Animation & VFX programme Phillip Vaughn said the contest taught students about the pressure of working to tight deadlines.
“Ten of my students took part and there were 12 teams from across Scotland, from all different backgrounds, taking part,” he said.
“They weren’t allowed to prepare anything before it started so had to make everything up on the spot and then work through the night.
“I think they only got about five hours sleep but it was a really good experience of working to tight deadlines.”
Well done @DJCAD MSc Animation & Visualisation students on completing their 48 hr animation! #theAniJam pic.twitter.com/zJx60O7EjH
