A Dundee hairdressers has been left picking up the pieces after raiders broke into the shop and made off with shampoo and styling products.
Eco Chic Hairdressing, on Teviotdale Avenue, was targeted by thieves in the early hours of Sunday morning, who made off with curling tongs and various salon shampoos.
The salon, owned by head stylist Louise Lawson, was closed as usual on Sunday and Monday but, posting the news online, Ms Lawson said the team were rallying around after the incident, even coming in on their day off to help.
She said: “Sadly Eco Chic has been broken into. All our retail pro cuts and GHD Curves were taken and about a box of colour.”
However, the raiders were caught in the act on nearby CCTV, which staff hope will help police trace those responsible and bring them to justice.
Ms Lawson added: “Our shop neighbour has got them on camera bursting the door.
“They were driving a Ford Focus. They have been seen going in and out of the salon.
“The hassle it has taken them to burst the door for what they’ve taken is beyond me. So pointless.”
The salon has records of the serial numbers for their curling tongs and is urging anyone offered the stolen GHD Curves to contact them.
The salon’s customers and friends reacted with shock to the news and even offered to lend styling equipment to help.
The break-in came after the shop’s sign and paintwork were damaged in a previous incident, but Ms Lawson said she was keeping her spirits up.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information after a hairdressing shop in Teviotdale Avenue, Dundee, was broken into sometime between 2.30am and 3am on Sunday March 22.
“Hair appliances and hair products were stolen.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
