A man who was with a prostitute in her flat was then robbed at knifepoint by her boyfriend, a court has heard.
Christopher Wilkie, 24, a prisoner at Perth, burst into the room and demanded the man’s wallet while holding a knife to his throat.
Nicola Rennie, 23, then took the terrified man’s wallet before they allowed him to leave the Arbroath Road flat.
Wilkie and Rennie were both found guilty after trial by a jury of assaulting the man by presenting a knife, threatening to stab him, placing a knife at his throat, pushing him on to a bed and robbing him of a wallet and a sum of money, at a flat in Arbroath Road, on August 2 2013.
Wilkie, who had been out on licence from a previous sentence at the time, was jailed for four years by Sheriff Richard Davidson.
Rennie admitted being on bail at the time and her sentence was deferred until January 30.
Solicitor Ann Johnston, for Wilkie, told the court he knew he was going to jail but appealed to Sheriff Davidson to include a community support programme on his release from prison.
She said: “All his offending is related to his addiction to heroin. He’s hopeful for some support in the community on his release.”
Sheriff Davidson praised the victim for putting aside his embarrassment and reporting the robbery to police.
He added that in Rennie’s case, he believed her part in the robbery was not planned.
He told Wilkie: “A custodial sentence is inevitable. You robbed a man at knifepoint and while Miss Rennie may have participated in taking the wallet out of his pocket that was at its height.”
The sheriff ordered him to be under supervision for a year and for him to engage with drug agencies and to agree to have support from Mentoring for Men for three months.
