ByThe Courier Reporter
Homeowners in the DD4 area of Dundee are more than three times as likely to be broken into compared to those in the DD2 district.
Figures compiled by MoneySuperMarket.com show that folk living in Stobswell, Craigie, Pitkerro, Douglas, Fintry and Whitfield are in hotspots for theft in Dundee, as they have made more insurance claims per head of population than anywhere else in the city.
The rate is 13.5 per 1,000 of the population lodging claims for break-ins compared to just 3.9 in the area containing Lochee, Blackness, Ninewells, Menzieshill, Charleston, Balgay, Ardler and Logie.
Figures show a total of 784 housebreaking incidents were recorded between April 2014 and December 2015.
