A former school teacher and convicted paedophile has admitted another sickening offence against children.
Robert Lightband, a 69-year-old former Menzieshill High School teacher and church organist, pled guilty to further indecent child photo charges when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Lightband, of Clepington Court, admitted taking or allowing others to take indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children between June 16 2014 and February 29 2015.
Lightband lost his job and was struck off as a teacher in January 2002 when he owned up to keeping indecent images of young boys at his home in Dundee.
The former history teacher was caught after his cleaner found the revealing pictures in his bedroom on August 29 2001.
Discussing the new offences, defence solicitor John Boyle told the court: “He is currently subject to stringent bail conditions regarding his internet use and that is causing him difficulties.
“Before he was charged he did his shopping and banking online and he has had to rely on the goodwill of friends to help.
“He expects there will be press coverage of this case and he would like to keep a low profile so asks that the condition stopping him using the internet is lifted.”
Sheriff Alistair Carmichael deferred sentence until next week for the Crown to provide a full narrative of the facts of the case.
He said: “In light of the plea and his previous conviction I will not remove the bail condition.”
He is currently subject to an internet ban as well as the notification requirements of the sex offenders register.
