A man has been detained by police after at least eight houses in Dundee had their windows smashed in early-morning incidents.
Residents in the South Road/Myrekirk Road area were woken by loud bangs and smashes at around 3.45am.
They found that windows had been broken or damaged. More called police after discovering similar damage later in the morning.
A police spokesman said: “As of 10.30am, eight householders have reported property damage of this kind to the police.
“Local officers attended in the area as the first calls came in to the police control room and have detained a 24-year-old man in connection with the incidents.”
Police inquiries are continuing. Anyone else whose property suffered damage overnight, or who saw or heard anything suspicious, is asked to phone 101 or speak to local officers.
