Police are investigating a “riot” at a Sunday league football match in Dundee.
The match between Queen Anne AFC and AFC Plough took place at Lochee Park on Sunday but had to be abandoned after what has been described by eyewitnesses as a “riot” broke out.
It is understood that violence erupted when one of the Queen Anne AFC players suffered a broken jaw during the game.
Police Scotland confirmed they are looking into the disturbance.
Allan Ramsey, of the Dundee Sunday Amateur Football Association, said: “We need to wait now to get the referee’s match report.”
Jamie Hart, secretary of FC Plough, said the matter will be dealt with by the Scottish Amateur Association in due course.
