A fraudster whose scams led to the collapse of a Dundee car garage with the loss of 19 jobs has been jailed.
Steven Parker was sentenced to three years and four months after admitting to defrauding three companies through a £281,000 finance scam.
The 44-year-old of St Davids Lane, Prenton, Wirral, caused Norman Fairweather Ltd in Dundee to go bust in 2010.
At Liverpool Crown Court, prosecutor Simon Christie said: “Fairweather could not survive the sudden and severe damage to their cash flow, which resulted from them having to reimburse the finance companies, and their business collapsed.
“Nineteen people lost their jobs and Mr Fairweather had to sell his own properties to make good some of the loss.”
Parker, a father-of-three, defrauded a total of three companies between 2009 and 2010.For the full story get Friday’s edition of The Courier.
