Minions joined Santa to switch on the Broughty Ferry Christmas lights as part of the community extravaganza.
Thousands of people lined the main streets for the highlight of the festive calendar.
Brook Street was packed full of excited spectators for the biggest performance of the night, when Elsa, Anna and Olaf took to the stage to sing a tribute to Disney’s Frozen.
The stars of Frozen added a touch of sparkle to the event when they headlined on the main stage.
They followed on from performances by the children of Eastern Primary School Choir as well as the Downfield Musical Society, who were singing numbers from their latest show.
The family-friendly event, which is put on by Broughty Ferry Traders Association, also saw crowds enjoy the fairground rides and street entertainment.
Local good causes benefited from a year’s fundraising and were presented with their cheques by the traders association.
Association chairman Steve James said: “The Ferry Light Night is the Broughty Ferry Traders Association way of saying a big thank you to our community for continuing to help this special small town thrive.
“It’s always a good night out and it’s especially lovely to see everyone grinning from ear to ear when the lights start to sparkle.”
The winners of the children’s poster competition were also given their prizes on the night.
The Ferry’s festive events continue on Sunday.
Now in its second year, Festive Shopping Sunday will take place from noon to 4pm. Visitors will be able to ride the land train and Santa will be in his grotto with a Minion friend or two next door to Visocchi’s.
