Police have confirmed that a 35-year-old man has been charged in relation to a suspected robbery at a block of Dundee flats.
A convoy of police cars raced to the city’s Court Street shortly before 5pm yesterday in a scene of early evening drama.
Officers, some dressed in riot gear, then filed into a property in connection with an “ongoing incident”.
Within 20 minutes, however, the police presence had reduced to just one vehicle and a pair of officers.
Local people said they had been unaware of any incident before the arrival of Police Scotland.
Witnesses did, however, describe a strong smell of drugs emanating from the close at the flats.
Now, though, officers have confirmed that a middle-aged man will appear at Dundee Sheriff Court tomorrow in connection with an alleged theft.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 35 year old man has been charged in connection with a robbery at Court Street, Dundee.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and he is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday April 1.”
