Reports on social media suggested there had been instances of people in cars stopping young people and asking them to get in. The posts, which were widely circulated, urged vigilance and asked parents to reinforce the stranger danger message to children. However, when The Courier contacted Police Scotland regarding the issue a spokesman said they were not aware of any issues in the area.
