Police Scotland have issued a fresh appeal for information on missing Dundee schoolgirl Elisa Geremias-Lorenzo.
The 14-year-old Morgan Academy pupil, who lives in the Stobswell area of the city, has not been seen by her family since leaving for school at 8.30 on Wednesday morning.
She attended classes that morning but a friend has told officers investigating her disappearance that she got on the number 17 bus outside the Terra Nova Medical Centre on Dura Street around 1.06pm, apparently heading to the Menzieshill area.
Elisa has not been seen again since.
She is described as being about five foot four, with long blonde hair and very fair skin.
When last seen she was wearing a navy parka coat with a hood, a white blouse with a Morgan Academy school tie and black trousers. She had a pink Nike wet drawstring gym bag in her possession at this time.
A force spokesman said: “We do have real concern we ask that anyone with information gets in touch.”
Officers are now pouring over the bus’s CCTV footage as they look for any clues about where the teenager may now be.
Cameras in the area where she was last seen are also being examined.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Officers will today be attempting to retrace Elisa’s steps.CCTV on the bus she boarded, as well as in the areas where she was last seen, is being checked to build a picture of where she went on Wednesday.
“A dedicated CCTV coordinator will also be involved today.”
Meanwhile, other teams of officers are visiting friends and acquaintances of Elisa as they try to pinpoint where she may be.
The spokesman added: “There’s a lot of follow-ups being done. There is no specific area we are focusing on, but the search has not extended out of Dundee.
“Inquiries will continue throughout the day and will likely involve going door-to-door in the area where she lives as well.
“We have significant concern for her because she has not been missingbefore and her behaviour is out of character.
“Her age is also a factor. Anyone with any information in regards to her whereabouts is urged to contact the police on 101 or speak to any officer.”
