Concern over a shortage of teachers has seen a group of Dundee parents demand answers from the Scottish Government.
Schools have been struggling to fill full-time posts and secure supply teachers to take classes.
Grove Academy’s parent council has now written to Education Secretary Angela Constance to ask for help.
Parent council chairwoman Penny Lewis said: “To Government officials, teacher shortages are a problem they are working to address but to a young person missing a maths teacher or going without proper science lessons the difficulties make a mockery of the idea of excellence in education.”
