Two Dundee parks could be in line for close to £80,000 of investment to help improve and protect facilities for the future.
A new surface is being proposed for the play area at Baxter Park, while the former bowling green there could be redeveloped with landscaping following consultation with the Friends of Baxter Park.
Meanwhile, the Friends of Dudhope Park have been involved in proposals to create a dog exclusion zone by putting in fencing around the play area.
The plans will be discussed by the city council’s environment committee at a meeting on Monday.
Depute environment convener Vari McDonald said: “These investments in parks shows how we are working in close partnership with local people who get involved in their parks. They are playing an important part in our Take Pride in Your City campaign.
“This investment in both Baxter and Dudhope parks are intended to improve the areas for our local communities, help improve safety and reduce the long-term maintenance burden.”
The news comes after Camperdown Park was granted a five-figure investment.
A new inclusive play unit is set to be installed in the park, costing close to £60,000.
This will replace an old play area which is beyond economic repair.
The work will see the removal of the existing equipment and installation of a play unit that offers inclusive access to children of all abilities.
It will feature wheelchair access and various play elements.
Ms McDonald added: “This new inclusive play area will be a superb asset.”
