The death of a 14 month-old girl in Dundee will be treated as a “suspicious incident” until a post mortem can be carried out – but police have stressed there is no indication of foul play.
She began to experience breathing difficulties while in a car park on the city’s Kings Cross Road at around midday on Friday.
Staff from a nearby B&Q store administered CPR before passing the child into the care of paramedics.
She was rushed to Ninewells Hospital but sadly died a short time later.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Detectives are continuing to carry out inquiries into this tragic incident.
“Given the age of the child involved, it will be classed as a suspicious incident until a post mortem can be carried out.”
It is understood the post-mortem is due to be carried out on Monday.
