A post-mortem has been carried on out on the body of a mystery man washed up on Broughty Ferry beach.
The man’s body was discovered by a walker last Friday a short distance from the shoreline between the castle and lifeboat station.
It is understood officers are not ruling out the possibility the unknown male was a fisherman or offshore worker.
A forensic artist is preparing an image of the man in a bid to identify him.
Police released more photographs of the man’s possessions, including a set of four gold or brass keys which were attached to his left trouser pocket with a similar coloured metal chain, and an earplug case.
The man, who was wearing socks but no shoes, is described as white and aged between 40 and 50.
He was about 6ft, of stocky or heavy build and had brown, unkempt hair, a receding hairline and thick, greying stubble.
He was wearing a red waterproof jacket with hood, a beige long-sleeve shirt, a woollen snood around his neck, black Dunlop fingerless gloves, green hiking trousers and navy socks but no footwear.
The deceased also had a red plastic hair comb, a small white penknife, a Seiko silver metal wrist watch and a pair of large black plastic sunglasses.
