A Dundee United fan who threw flares on to the pitch during a Scottish Cup clash with Stranraer has been fined £1,000 and handed an eight-month football banning order.
Ryan Mulholland, 29, from Dundee, was sentenced at Stranraer Sheriff Court following the incident last February during a clash between the sides at Stair Park.
The match, which United won 3-0, was marred by the throwing of five flares, launched as the players emerged from the tunnel.
A sixth flare was later thrown at United forward Nadir Ciftci, now with Celtic, as he bore down on goal.
Mulholland initially pleaded not guilty earlier this year.
