Dundee United midfielder Paul Paton has appeared in court to deny attacking former Celtic goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska. The 28-year-old is alleged to have repeatedly hit Mr Zaluska on the head to his injury in Glasgow’s west end on October 20 last year. The case had previously called, with Paton pleading not guilty by letter. However, on Tuesday he appeared in the dock for the first time in connection with the case. Paton, of Paisley, maintained his plea of not guilty and a trial date was set for next month. Joining United in 2013, Paton previously played for Partick Thistle and Queen’s park.
