Man dies after being found unconscious in street

A 31-year-old man has died in hospital after he was found unconscious on a Dundee street.

Police received a 999 call from a member of the public after they found the man on Perth Road.

Emergency services were alerted and police and ambulance rushed to the scene.

The man who has not yet been named was taken to Ninewells Hospital where he later died.

A police spokeswoman said that the death was being treated as unexplained and inquiries were at an early stage.

Following the discovery of the man in the early hours, a section of Perth Road around Hawkhill was cordoned off.
