The Dighty Burn in Dundee has burst its banks making parts of the Green Circular treacherous for walkers and turning the surrounding area into a swamp.
One cyclist was caught out when he plunged into cold water in the dark while trying to use an underpass on his way into work.
He said: “It was dark and by the time I saw the water I was already heading straight into it.”
Residents living alongside the burn have already reported flooding in Monifieth and parkland at Fountainbleau Drive is sodden leaving only ducks and seagulls enjoying the weather.
Elsewhere the end of Longhaugh Road was underwater and a trolley was under water in a flooded car park off Pitkerro Road.
