Dundee’s sports stars have been celebrated at the 2014 Dundee Sports Awards.
Local athletes, teams, clubs, coaches, schools and volunteers were rewarded for their achievements throughout the year at the Caird Hall ceremony.
Winners included 2014 Commonwealth Games cyclist Mark Stewart, who beat off strong competition to win Leisure & Culture Dundee Sports person of the year.
More than 5,000 public votes were cast in three categories. Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club was named club of the year.
Other highlights included the lifetime commitment award for Jim Shepherd, who was recognised for the years of service he has given Dundee Wanderers.
Lord Provost Bob Duncan, chairman of Leisure and Culture Dundee, said: “Leisure and Culture Dundee received quality nominations for all of this year’s categories.
“The nominees and winners should be very proud of their achievements and we are delighted they are receiving recognition for their efforts.”
