Police investigate Longhaugh quarry shooting range claims
ByThe Courier Reporter
Police in Dundee are investigating claims that a former quarry is being used as a shooting range.
Residents living near the Pitkerro Road site say it has become a hot spot for antisocial behaviour, including firing air rifles.
North east councillor Brian Gordon has said police must “stamp out” the behaviour.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland received a report of two individuals with air weapons in the area of Longhaugh Quarry, Pitkerro Road, at about 2.05pm on October 19.
“Officers attended and made inquiries. However, no people were found at that location on police arrival. Anyone who has information should contact Police Scotland on 101.”
