A Dundee woman who abandoned her car after ploughing through crash barriers, down a verge and into a fence, has been fined £400.
Kirsty Cameron, 42, of Johnston Avenue, admitted failing to report the incident and failing to stop and provide her details.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard the abandoned vehicle was found by police on June 2 at the junction of Macalpine Road and Kingsway.
The officers noticed the airbags were deployed within the vehicle and its windscreen was smashed.
Further up the road they noticed the crash barrier was damaged and there were track marks down from the part of the road to where the vehicle had collided.
Police traced the accused at her home.
During her first police interview Cameron said her partner Steven Fraser was driving.
Officers carried out further checks and found Mr Fraser was disqualified.
When police questioned Mr Fraser, he denied he was driving, stating he was a passenger, which matched officers’ observations of the seating arrangement in the vehicle.
Cameron also admitted a charge of giving police false information in relation to the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident.
She was disqualified from driving for six months and had her licence endorsed.
