Construction worker killed at Bridge of Don was from Dundee

A man killed on the construction site of a new bridge over the River Don was a father-of-three from Dundee.
Police today confirmed the man who died was Ian Walker, 58, from the Whitfield area of the city.
Mr Walker has three grown-up children who travelled to Aberdeen to identify his body on Wednesday night.
Emergencyhad beencalled to the constructionsite in the Danestone area of Aberdeen around 4.45pm on Wednesday after receiving reports a man had been injured.
A police spokeswoman saidMr Walkerdied of his injuries on site.
An Aberdeen City Council spokeswoman said: “We offer our deepest condolences to the family.”
The new £18 million bridge will link the Bridge of Don and Tillydrone.
