Light aircraft reports problems ahead of landing at Dundee Airport

Emergency services raced to Dundee Airport today after a plane got into difficulty landing.

The light aircraft reported engine trouble at around 11.30am

Police and fire brigade units rapidly responded after the alarm was raised by airport staff and the Broughty Ferry lifeboat was scrambled as well because of fears the aircraft might miss the runway and land in the Tay.

However, the aircraft landed safely.

The incident is now being investigated.
