A man who stole a security camera he disconnected from Tesco on Kingsway West, Dundee, was sentenced to 4 months in prison.
Robert Tolmie, 26, of Red Admiral Court, admitted stealing the camera while on bail when he appeared at the city’s sheriff court on Wednesday.
The court heard the camera was installed in the store’s health and beauty department and was hooked up to a display monitor.
Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson told the court: “At around 9pm, a member of staff saw the accused fiddling with something in his hands while standing next to where the cameras were located.
“She could see a black cable coming from his hands leading up the monitor and immediately suspected he had taken the camera.”
Police found him to be heavily under the influence or either alcohol or drugs and when interviewed Tolmie said he remembered nothing of the incident.
Sheriff McGowan added the further 4 months to the sentence Tolmie is currently serving for supply of diazepam.
