Monikie Country Park hosting emergency training exercise
ByThe Courier Reporter
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is leading a major incident exercise at Monikie Country Park this weekend.
The event aims to test command and control, communication, co-ordination and response by a number of agencies to an incident of severe flooding.
Around 10 agencies, including Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, Tayside Mountain Rescue Team and Dundee Airport Fire Service will be taking part in the exercise, which will see people rescued or evacuated from flood or fast water-affected scenarios.
Monikie Country Park will be open to members of the public during the exercise today, which runs between 10am and 3.30pm, with some short-term restrictions on access to certain areas.
