Dundee man accused of making derogatory comments to police about Glasgow helicopter crash

A man has appeared in court accused of making derogatory comments to police about last Friday’s helicopter crash in Glasgow.
Colin Simpson, 47, of Spey Drive, Dundee, denied making the comments on Monday in Conroy’s Pub, Meadowside, Dundee.
He denies assaulting Detective Sergeant Keith Duncan, striking him in the groin, seizing him by the throat and struggling with him, all to his injury, behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, shouting and swearing and threatening police officers with violence, making derogatory and offensive remarks regarding the helicopter crash in Glasgow, and resisting arrest.
Sheriff McGowan granted Simpson bail and set a trial date for March 14.
