A resident has expressed her disbelief that a new sign on a roundabout misspells the name of the street it is on.
The roundabout, which is at the junction of Old Glamis Road and Gillburn Road, had the new signs put up as part of a City Council scheme allowing businesses to sponsor roundabouts across the city.
However, the two signs that have been put up wrongly identify the roundabout as ‘Gilburn’ roundabout, rather than ‘Gillburn’.
A resident who contacted the Courier expressed her disbelief that no-one had spotted the error.
“There is a street sign less than 30ft away with the correct spelling on it,” they said. “It’s just a waste of money.”
A spokesman for Community Partners Ltd, who are responsible for the sign, said: “A clerical error is responsible for the misspelling of the name and it will be rectified.”
