A Halloween pug party saw wee dogs don costumes and strut their spooky stuff. Organiser Julie Mill said she stayed up late crafting her knitted spider costume for pooch Daphnie, while Roddy rocked a homemade lion look. Julie said the group regularly meet up for pug owner gatherings but had never had a Halloween party before. She said: “We usually just meet for an hour. It is quite cute seeing all the dogs get together among their own kind. “It’s a very American thing for people to dress up their dogs.” There was no entry fee but collections were held for Brown Street Kennels and UK Pug Rescue. The event was held at the Brewdog pub. One startled onlooker said: “Those poor dogs have enough to deal with just being pugs.” Despite leaving a few puddles on the floor of Brewdog, most of the pugs were well behaved.
