Muirfield Contracts meets to discuss firm’s future

The future of a major Dundee construction firm is unclear.
Workers labouring on Muirfield Contracts developments across Dundee downed tools on Tuesday morning and walked off site.
The move came as senior management are understood to have met for talks at the company’s headquarters at Camperdown Industrial Park.
Attempts to clarify the situation with Muirfield were unsuccessful.
The company is one of Dundee best-known construction firms and has worked on a series of major projects including the refurbishment of the city’s landmark McManus museum.
The firm employs around 250 staff and its latest accounts for the year to October 2013 show a £1m pre-tax profit.
