It could be next week before the body found in a fire-ravaged Piperdam lodge can be identified.
Police Scotland confirmed on Friday that a body had been found within the remains of the lodge, which burned down in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The Courier understands it may be Monday before a formal identification can take place.
The family of missing Aberdeen 26-year-old Jamie McLennan have been made aware that a body was found.
It is understood he had been visiting two of the resort’s registered guests at the time of the blaze.
Neither of them were in the lodge when the fire started.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
