Police and ambulance crews were summoned after motorists raised the alarm.
Witnesses said a car had left the Perth to Dundee carriageway shortly after 7pm.The vehicle is said to have struck a tree before coming to a rest just off the carriageway.Police Scotland said a female driver had been helped from the stricken car.She was treated at the roadside by paramedics and was not thought to have been badly hurt in the incident.A spokesman for the force said in the immediate aftermath: “She is conscious and breathing but has sustained some injuries.”No further details of the victim were released last night.One lane of the road was closed briefly as the accident was dealt with.
