Hardy souls swapped their beds for ice-cold water in a series of New Year’s Day dooks in Courier country.
At 10.30am, when most of Dundee was recovering from a night of partying, 118 ‘dookers’ turned up at Broughty Ferry harbour to take a plunge into the water.
Some wore fancy dress costumes for added effect while others raised money for their chosen charities.
One of those who braved the elements was Dundee electrician John McIlravey, who dressed up as a Star Wars stormtrooper.

The 38-year-old said: “It’s the first time I’ve done this – It was very cold but I’d do it again!”
Stonehaven, Arbroath, Carnoustie, Kinghorn, Limekilns and even land-locked Lochore Meadows were also among the areas offering refreshing dips to those brave enough.
