NEoN Digital Arts Festival pools its talent in Dundee
ByThe Courier Reporter
Dundee is hosting the NEoN Digital Arts Festival again this year and among the additions is underwater audio and digital dance.
Clare Brennan, one of the organisers, said: “All the team have been working incredibly hard to make this the most exciting, spectacular week of events yet.”
The Olympia pool is hosting the audio performance by Joel Cahen and many will hear the effect underwater at first hand.
In Scotland in 1816, Sir David Brewster created the kaleidoscope on which the finale of the festival, Forever Falling Nowhere, is based.
As sound travels 4 times faster underwater, a fascinating audio display is revealed with a clear sound and, for those willing to hear it for themselves underwater, organisers say it will be a surreal experience not to be missed.
Audio art in the swimming pool and digital dance projections are just two of the highlights of the programme.
The festival will run from November 3-9 in venues all over the city and activities will include a craft workshop, a workshop exploring Dundee’s history of creativity and art and an evening of experimental films.
